What is Data?

The people,  experts,  self help sites and panels always keeps on insisting that the data shows this might be the right way to do a certain thing,  to launch a product,  to catch the attention of the consumer and we like good followers follow thier advice without thinking and analysing .

The webopedia describes it like this,  ” Data is distinct pieces of information, usually formatted in a special way. All software is divided into two general categories:data and programs. Programs are collections of instructions for manipulating data.

Data can exist in a variety of forms — as numbers or text on pieces of paper, as bits and bytes stored in electronic memory, or as facts stored in a person’s mind.

Strictly speaking, data is the plural of datum, a single piece of information. In practice, however, people use data as both the singular and plural form of the word. “.

So it clearly means data can be created which can be used to achieve our dreams.

Let’s just go few years back, some great companies were started which are today the biggest corporations in the world.

Consider the case of Microsoft, IBM and many people had the data that made them believe that PC were not going to be used in the homes for personal uses, but Microsoft proved that data wrong and brought the PC’s to the general public for their personal use.

Consider the case of Apple, people were convinced that nobody is going to accept the GUI but still Apple went ahead and broke the norm.

If we begin to count this type of facts, we are going to find a lot of data and what happened when people ignored them.

So now comes the paradox, what I just told you that is also a data and i used my data to falsify your data.

Isn’t it quite funny that we can create our own data and build our own future.

People have their responsibility to tell you about the data and general norms which the data establishes and it is completely upto you to

follow their data blindly or to create your own data

It is just like the pill case of the matrix, whatever you choose, consequences are there for that choice.
